Kahoot is an excellent tool, free and open access that allows teachers to assess student learning in a fast and fun way. In addition, one of the aspects to highlight about Kahoot is that all the test results we carry out are recorded and ready to download in a spreadsheet, which allows us to continuously monitor all the evaluation tests carried out. In this post, you will learn how to create a Kahoot?.
How to start?
First of all, you must enter as a user in getkahoot.com and register by providing your nickname, password, and your email.
From that moment, you will enter the control panel where you can create three types of Kahoot: Quiz, Discussion, and Survey. Each of these types is designed for different pedagogical purposes.
How to Create a Quiz
The Quiz is the most frequent and allows students to measure themselves against other classmates or against themselves (in ghost mode) before the questions that the teacher projects. In this game mode, students will receive points if they answer correctly.
The game gives 1000 points for the correct answer that is answered in the first second, and from there, they subtract up to 500 points. For example, if a student correctly answers a question with a duration of 20 “, when there are 5″ before the time runs out, they will get around 550 points. On the other hand, if you do it when there are still 10,” you will receive about 750 points.
In Discussion mode, it is designed to ask a single quick question to the group, with the intention of generating a debate or discussion about the answers to that question.
Create a Survey
Finally, Survey mode has the same structure as Quiz mode but does not give scores or show which answer is correct or incorrect. It can be used to evaluate the process, obtain data on possible interests, or start a topic about which we are not yet interested in knowing the correct answers in order to arouse their curiosity.
Remember, when creating your Kahoot, complete the description with words that later facilitate the search. When you have a high number of Kahoots, this function will be very useful for you.
It is also necessary that you know that you can configure your Kahoot to be public or private, except if you have registered as a user under the age of 16, for which you are not allowed to share your Kahoots or access all public Kahoots.
